Helping you stay safe, preserve vision and maintain good eye health during the Covid-19 outbreak
Updated 07/03/2023
Strathfield Retina Clinic will continue seeing routine patients, in addition to urgent patients according to NSW Department of Health and RANZCO guidelines. As an essential healthcare service, we urge patients to keep their appointment for eye treatments and reviews to maintain good vision during this outbreak.
If you have a routine appointment and do not wish to attend, we are providing the option of a telehealth consultation directly with your ophthalmologist over the phone or via video link. However, if you have any concerns about your vision, we advise you to keep your face to face appointment.
We are continuing to administer sight-saving treatments, such as injections, lasers and urgent surgery, as well as seeing urgent patients and emergency referrals. If you are concerned about your vision or eye health, please contact the clinic on (02) 9746 3378.
staying safe during your clinic visit
At Strathfield Retina Clinic, we have implemented a number of measures for the safety of our patients and their families during this time.
Before your visit:
If you have tested positive for COVID-19, please contact the clinic to reschedule your appointment.
If you have any respiratory, cold or flu-like symptoms, please complete a RAT test or contact the clinic to reschedule your appointment.
In the clinic:
All patients and other persons are being asked to wear a mask
Patients are required to remain alone in the clinic for the duration of their appointment, unless it is essential for them to have a carer or interpreter. If needed, this is limited to ONE support person only.
All diagnostic equipment including scanners and microscopes are already strictly disinfected between each patient and have further protective shields for patient and staff safety
All non-essential items, such as magazines, lollies, cups and clipboards, have been removed from our waiting area. If patients require water or lollies they can request these from reception
Hand-sanitiser is readily available throughout the clinic and all patients/visitors are being encouraged to sanitise regularly
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact the clinic on (02) 9746 3378
