Strathfield Retina Clinic is a leading ophthalmology practice located in Sydney’s inner west with retina specialists and surgeons highly trained in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders in the retina, vitreous, and macula in addition to general ophthalmology.

We are also an eye emergency referral centre and see urgent patients.

Eye Conditions We Treat

Our qualified team of clinical staff and doctors provide accurate diagnosis and a high level of care and treatment for a range of different eye conditions through the latest diagnostic technology.

Cataracts

The lens of the eye is generally transparent but if a cloudy area develops within the lens, this is called a cataract.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma is a condition affecting the peripheral (side) vision and often damages the optic nerve. It is commonly a slow progressing condition leading to tunnel-vision, leaving central vision intact.

Central Serous Retinopathy

Central serous chorioretinopathy is a condition associated with accumulation of fluid in the space beneath the retina.

Macular Degeneration

A degenerative retinal eye disease that causes progressive loss of central vision, leaving the side vision intact.

Retinal Tear

Retinal tear or detachment (RD) is an eye condition in which the retina peels away from its underlying layer of support tissue.

Flashes and Floaters

Flashes are flickers or streaks of light that usually occur in the peripheral vision.

Uveitis

Uveitis is inflammation of the uvea, the middle layer of the eye, which brings blood supply to other parts of the eye.

Diabetic Retinopathy

Damage to the retina caused by complications of both type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus.

A Phase II study of KHK4951 eye drops to explore safety and efficacy in the treatment of wet age related macular degeneration.

Strathfield Retina Clinic is proud to have been involved in the pivotal multinational BALATON and COMINO Clinical Research trials of Vabysmo (faricimab) in RVO over the last several years. Our team of Retina Specialists, Clinical Orthoptists and Clinical Trial Coordinators have contributed as Principal Investigators and as a major site to this forefront research with a new therapeutic agent.
